How We Learn – May
At Episcopal School, we learn in classroom communities in which each child is known and valued. We deliver a challenging curriculum combined with dedicated educators who are committed to helping each child succeed. In our last Quarter of school, we adopted a hands-on Science Program, with the help of Lydia Peelle. The children have worked in our on-campus gardens, learning that they are farmers. We continue with our Singapore Math, Lucy Calkins Reader’s and Writer’s Workshops, and Wordly Wise vocabulary development. We have seen great success with Responsive Classroom this year, from classroom conflicts to teaching children how and when to use their voice in a group setting. With our growing campus, faculty and staff, each child’s needs are being met both academically, socially, and emotionally.
