Marcy Brandau Remembered

A dear friend and instrumental contributor to our school was honored today for her life and her dedication to Episcopal School of Nashville. Marcy Brandau is the wife to Board Member Seawell Brandau and a long-time supporter of our school. One of her contributions is the implementation of our backpack program carried out by St. George’s Church. This has helped our students and families in immeasurable ways. Our children have walked onto campus the last three years with all their school supplies, and Marcy and her team are to thank.

The Marcy Brandau Award was established in memory of Mrs. Brandau this year. Marcy Brandau was a person of character. Her commitment to service in her community, her strong faith, her intellectual curiosity, her gentle heart, and her compassion for others epitomized her life. This award will be given to one student each year and his or her name will be engraved into a beautiful silver bowl that was recently donated to the school.

The Marcy Brandau Award recognizes an ESN student who most closely exemplifies Mrs. Brandau’s distinctiveness of service, faith, intellectual curiosity, a gentleness of heart, and compassion for others.
