Greetings ESN Families!

 

It is hard to believe that our summer break is almost over. We hope that you have been resting, rejuvenating and restoring with family and friends.

 

As the weeks wind down to our return for the ‘23-’24 school year, we want to connect and provide some valuable information to get the school year started.

 

Back to School FACT SHEET

23-24 School Year

 

Arrival/Dismissal:

Students should arrive at school at their designated arrival time. Students may not arrive at school past 11:00 AM without prior approval from the Principal. In the morning, students may arrive between 7:45 AM to 8:05 AM. All students are tardy after 8:05 AM.

Afternoon Departure Times

  • 2:45 – Early Childhood & Lower School departure
  • 3:00 – Middle School departure

All students will be dismissed by 3:05 PM unless a student has made previous arrangements to stay for Aftercare. Students not picked up by 3:05 PM will automatically be sent to Aftercare.

 

School Attire:

Episcopal School of Nashville does not require students to wear purchased uniforms. However, students are required to adhere to the school’s standard school attire dress code. Episcopal School of Nashville’s school colors are red, white, and navy-blue. The school’s dress code for the 2023-2024 school year will require students to wear a solid-colored red, white, or navy-blue polo shirt with short or long sleeves. Students may wear navy-blue or khaki shorts/pants and skort/skirts/jumpers/dresses throughout the year. All shorts, skirts, and dresses must reach finger-tip length on students. Leggings/Jeggings/Yoga Pants may only  be worn under skirts and must be solid colors that are red, white, black, or navy-blue. School logo sweatshirts or solid-colored outer garments may be worn. All other outer garments must be removed if they have a logo or writing.  Socks and closed-toe, flat shoes are required. Items not allowed are denim, sweatshirts with logos, athletic wear (leggings, yoga pants, etc..) or caps and hats. Please label all of your students belongings (Any sweaters, jackets, personal items should be labeled for easy identification to return)

Carpool Information:

Carpool is a very busy time in the mornings and afternoons. Please be mindful that in good faith we are wanting to be great Ordway Place neighbors. Please do not block driveways, no u turns, have a student name placard in the front window.

 

Volunteers Needed for Lunch Duty:

Parent volunteers are needed to assist with lunch distribution and to help give our teachers a duty free lunch. Volunteers are needed to assist with classroom and Commons lunch times.

 

PK-K Lunch from 11:00-11:30, 1st-2nd Grades: 10:45-11:30, 3rd-4th Grades: 11:30-12,

5th-8th Grades: 12-12:30

Immunizations:

 

An updated immunization form must be submitted to start the first day of school, August 10th. Immunizations must have the year 2023 as we are going into the 2023-2024 school year.

 

Lunch/Snack/Water Bottle:

Episcopal School offers families a hot lunch option through Ordo. Register at ordo.com to receive menus and order lunch online for your student.

Students should pack a snack and a balanced lunch or lunch can be ordered through the Ordo Food Company. Students should also bring a refillable water bottle, labeled with their name on it daily. Students have limited access to a microwave while at school, so please plan accordingly. Outside/restaurant food deliveries will be permitted only in the event of an emergency, e.g. lunch cannot be dropped off by a student’s family/guardian.

If your student has a nut-allergy, the school will make every attempt to keep surfaces clean and nut free. For safety reasons, sharing food on campus is not permitted. Please be mindful to pack food thoroughly and safely.

 

Before/After Care Information:

Episcopal School of Nashville offers before and after care Monday through Friday to any child enrolled at the school.

Before and Aftercare begins on Monday, August 14, 2023 for the ’23-’24 school year.

 

Hourly Rates: M-F $6 per 30 minute increments*

  • Before care (7:15 AM – 7:45 AM)
  • After care (3:00 PM – 5:30 PM)

 

A $35.00 annual, non-refundable registration fee is required for all students attending before or after care for any reason, including extracurricular activities. This fee allows us to provide supplies and light snacks to students taking part in before and after care throughout the school year.

*Students receiving financial assistance for tuition will pay an hourly rate based on their financial aid percentage.

The school will  invoice families weekly for before and aftercare. After care follows the school calendar and is not available on holidays or half days.

After care closes promptly at 5:30 PM. If a parent arrives later, a late pick up fee of $15.00 will be charged until 5:45 PM and will be $1.00 per minute thereafter. If you have not arrived by 6:00 PM and we are unable to reach you, we will contact your emergency numbers for assistance with the child(ren). If you are late 3 times, you may be asked to leave the program.

 

Parents/Guardians must sign their student/students out of after care each day at pickup. Students will not be released to siblings under the age of 16.
